Head of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications
Cherie Smith is a recognised leader in the fundraising sector, known for her strategic vision, innovative thinking, and ability to inspire and lead high-performing teams. With extensive experience across fundraising, marketing, and communications, Cherie has built a career dedicated to delivering sustainable growth and meaningful impact in the not-for-profit sector.
Recently appointed as Head of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications at AEIOU; Cherie is responsible for driving income generation, brand positioning, and supporter engagement strategies that support the organisation’s future success.
Cherie has extensive experience working in the health sector in New Zealand and Australia and has worked previously for the Heart Foundation, Redkite, Mater Foundation and most recently RSPCA QLD. She also has two external roles as a board member for Bicycle Network, a Victorian based cycling advocacy organisation and is a member of the Fundraising Institute of Australia Code Authority Committee.
