Today marks the final day for more than 90 children in AEIOU Foundation's graduating class, as they prepare to transition to their next learning environment.
Over the past fortnight, graduation gowns have been wrapped proudly around shoulders and mortar boards positioned just right on young people who have made outstanding progress throughout their enrolment in AEIOU’s therapy program.
These end-of-year celebrations, held across our centres, are a momentous occasion for the children along with their parents and the staff at AEIOU, marking a year of hard work, the development of important life skills and many achievements that will equip them for the next stage in their lives.
Operations Manager Yolanda Borucki said this year has seen the biggest cohort of children graduating to ‘big school’ or the next stage in their education. “We could not be more proud of all they have achieved,” Mrs Borucki said.
“Graduations are very important. We celebrate each and every milestone throughout the year, but this is the time for us to get together with the children and their families to reflect on how far they’ve come, the life-changing progress they have made and to wish them well for the future.
“The success of AEIOU’s program is reliant on a collaborative approach between staff and parents and we simply couldn’t do what we do without the unwavering dedication and support of our families, who have made many sacrifices and dedicated countless hours to reinforcing learnings from our program,” Mrs Borucki said.
“We feel incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to play such a vital role in these formative years and blessed to be able to work each day with children who continually inspire and motivate us.
“We wish our transitioning families the brightest of futures and we are looking forward to another rewarding year in 2016.”
