Sharyn Ghidella dons her hiking boots for AEIOU Foundation
Channel Seven newsreader Sharyn Ghidella will join hundreds of Brisbane walkers in this year’s Take A Hike for AEIOU Foundation for children with autism on Sunday 22 October.
As a mother and newsreader, Sharyn has heard many stories from families benefitting from AEIOU’s evidence-based early intervention program for children with autism aged two to six.
“Seeing how AEIOU’s program is giving children the skills to play with peers, the ability to communicate with their families, and the confidence to head off to their next school, is not only heart-warming; its inspiring,” Sharyn says.
“That’s why my family and I are taking part in this year’s Take A Hike on Sunday 22 October.
“Come and walk with us, and hundreds more, as we trek the banks of the beautiful Brisbane River.
Sharyn and her family will be doing the 5km hike – but there are 10.5 and 21km events for those wanting a greater challenge.”
The event will start and finish at Kurilpa Park in Montague Road, South Brisbane. For information on event times, and to register, go to takeahike.org.au.
