For more than 20 years, AEIOU Foundation has been dedicated to supporting autistic children and their families through specialised early intervention services. Every day, our staff have worked alongside families to help children build communication, social and life skills at a critical stage of development. The impact of this work has been profound, not only for the children and families we support, but for the broader community.
Today, the AEIOU Board will make the difficult decision to appoint External Administrators to the organisation.
The Administrators will be Cameron Woodcroft and Bradly Hellen of Pilot Partners whose appointment will become effective on 12 March 2026.
This step has been taken following a sustained period of financial pressure across the disability services sector. Like many providers, AEIOU has experienced increasing costs, workforce challenges and significant changes in the funding environment that supports disability services.
Over recent years, the Board and leadership team have implemented a range of measures to strengthen the organisation’s sustainability. These actions included operational restructuring, cost management initiatives and efforts to adapt the organisation to a changing operating environment.
Despite these efforts, the Board has determined that entering Administration is the most responsible course of action to allow an independent review of the organisation’s financial position and to consider the possible pathways forward.
Administration is a formal process where independent Administrators are appointed to assess an organisation and explore options for its future. During this time, the Administrators will take control of the organisation and undertake a structured review of its operations.
We understand that this news will be deeply concerning for the children and families who rely on our services, as well as for our dedicated staff and the many supporters who have stood alongside AEIOU for so many years. Our immediate priority remains the safety and wellbeing of the children and families in our centres and supporting our staff through this challenging period.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to acknowledge the extraordinary commitment of our staff, the trust placed in us by families, and the generosity of the many donors, partners and community members who have supported AEIOU over the past two decades.
Your support has helped change the lives of thousands of children and families, and that impact will endure.
